Shipping, fandoms.. part 2 (long post)

Before you start reading this post you should know I will be discussing some of my favourite slash/femmeslash/normal pairings in Harry Potter followed by PICTURES of those ships. Don't say I didn't warn you..

OH, one more thing. This post is specifically going to be about the Harry Potter fandom. Other fandoms coming soon (or in 6 months time) including Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Percy Jackson, Hunger games and many more..

Well now that you know a whole lot about the world of fanfiction, shipping and crazy fangirls.. I'm goint to start my rant.

See, I ship unusual ships. Simply, I like to try and see beyond the typical cannon ships and try to visualize different situations and so. But the biggest problem are annoying fangirls with their ignorance and close minded opinions. I understand humans differ, opinions differ but that doesn't mean we can't be respectful of each other, right?
Personally, regarding HP fandom, I don't ship Romione and Hinny because I find them boring. In addition to that, when I really analyse their personalities and interests.. I don't see any specific reasons why they should be a couple. Let's take Romione for example, a bright, intelligent young woman and a bit dummy-headed guy. Her interests are books and other magical, fascinating things. He likes food, Quidditch and Wizard Chess. What possibly can they talk about? I think Hermione deserves someone better, someone intelligent, stimulating, intriguing even. Ron deserves a girl who's like him, likes Quidditch, enjoys food, doesn't care much about school and so.. A girl who's relaxed, laid back, jokes around.. You know?
Some people say opposites attract but I won't really believe that until I experience it first-hand.
Does that mean I'm soon going to start dating a really homophobic, Harry Potter-hating guy? Oh my god... Whoever knows me from school knows why I cringed right now. I just described a friend of mine.. Awkward. Well anyway, I really don't think we would have anything to talk about. I mean your other half should be someone you trust, share opinions/interests with and so.. not a person with which you argue about the most important things in your life. Seriously. Am I the only one that thinks this way?

Same goes for Hinny, she basically fell in love with the image of him before she even knew him. And even after she saw him at the platform 9 3/4, she didn't know his personality, she only knew he was hot.. (as an 11 year old). She fell in love with his fame.. but, after a while when they got to know each other, they probably could have bonded over Quidditch and so.
I truly wish she was portrayed as more of a tomboy in the books and movies.

Nevertheless, every time I re-read the books or watch the movies I ship them. Hard. Why? Because J.K. Rowling wrote it. And it works! And besides, Emma and Rupert look cute together. As well as Daniel and what's-her-name.
So yeah, I ship them hard while re-reading the books and watching the movies :)

Back to my unusual ships. I'm going to list every one of my current ships (and some others I simply wanted to talk about) and say something about them.

Snamione - Snape/Hermione.
NO FREAKING OUT. Okay guys? Just.. chill. I understand he is 19 years older than her but keep in mind he looks much older in the movies (portrayed by Alan Rickman) because the actor portraying him is 60+ years old. In the movies he is supposed to be 35+. Before you all freak out, let me just justify this ship. She's bright and intelligent. He is bright and intelligent. They could have stimulating conversations. And of course there's chemistry. Maybe just in my mind but.. whatever. :)
There's something intriguing about an older darker character and a young innocent one that just pulls you in. I'm NOT in any way talking about dominant/submissive relationship in which she's the sub and he's like her Father figure (not literally), teaching her and caring for her.. while she's all sensitive and whatnot. Nope. I strongly dislike those kinds of fics. I'm big on gender/sex equality so I like to read fics that only contain equal relationships. If the writer shows Hermione as a shy, sensitive, slightly unintelligent girl and Severus as the big, dominant, intelligent male who takes her under his wing... I am out of there!
So anyway, I prefer to read those 50 chapter, unbelievably-stretched-out-plot fanfics in which Severus and Hermione are forced to work together on some kind of a project as they slowly get to know each other.. 50-ish chapters later... BAM first kiss. Sparks everywhere. But anyway, recently I haven't really been into those. It's been a while.. :(

 Snarry - Snape/Harry
GUYS NO FREAKING OUT. Seriously. Yes. It's two guys. Yeap, it's Harry.. and Snapey. In a relationship.. Yuppers. Well, now that you've grasped that concept, let's carry on.
The same arguments stand for Snarry as they did for Snamione. I think Harry is also pretty darn intelligent and could have some stimulating talks with Severus. Again, sloooow chapters. I don't read that Oh-look-ProfSnape-is-eyefucking-me-I'll-just-go-ahead-and-drop-something-so-I-get-detention-and-can-seduce-him-and-carry-on-fucking-for-the-next-5-hours bullshit. Well.. maybe sometimes. But very rarely.. ^^
No judging you guys.. This is a no-judging-zone. Seriously.

Drarry - Draco/Harry
No judging. Two hot men.. you can't say no to that. Anywho, a lot of people ship them. But basically, most of the fics I come across are the usual non-realistic type. One day they hate each other guts, other day they are snogging in the hallway. Like.. what?!?! Again, I prefer the loong fics where somehow Draco and Harry end up together.. somewhere. And first 20 chapters, they almost kill each other. Next 20, they are bearing each other's presence. Next 20, friend-ish behaviour. Next 20 BAM SEXUAL TENSION.. and so on.. You get the point.
Though think about it, they both like Quidditch and adventure. What else is there? Seriously? (Maybe food..)

Snupin - Snape/Lupin
Ah! My latest obsession :) I've been shipping them for a while now. And lemme tell ya why! They are both two intelligent young men with relatively the same interests. Both spend their Hogwarts years nose stuck in books, reading on and on.. Yes, Sevvy might have spent a bit more time bent over cauldrons (hence the greasy hair) but that doesn't matter. Remus was the only one of the Marauders who rarely pranked Snivellus and was more interested in doing more mature and not-time-wasting things. Like... getting to know Severus better! ;) Bam. Sparks. Love. It. :3 I SHIP IT.

Snucius - Snape/Lucius
I really disliked Lucius before. I really didn't see why girls (and occasional boys) found him attractive. I mean seriously. A middle age guy with long blond/greyish hair and a fencyschmency cane. As in seriously..? Did I mention I love the word seriously? Well I love it. I also love the word indeed. And ifyouknowwhatimean. That's not a word.. but.. whatever :)
Anywho, I don't really know how I started shipp-ACTUALLY I DO KNOW! I was reading a Harry/Tom Riddle fic (No. Judging. It fucking worked. And Voldy was like Harry's age and... it worked. Shut up. It's called The black bunny or something along those lines. Feel free to check it out. Mpreg warning.) and the side pairing was Snape/Lucius.. And I loved it! And a certain Finnish/Estonian girl kept giving me weird looks while I told her about the latest adventure of 'the gang'. Oh also, Fred, George and Draco were in love and marrying each other. Yeap, all three of them. And now you're imagining Fred and George fucking.. NO! Draco was mostly in the middle. But then there was this one time... Oh god. You think I'm weird, you do don't you? Jesus. Ah well. Screw it. There are people like me out there! I KNOW IT! :3

Snirius - Snape/Sirius
I don't ship it as hard as Snupin since they don't have as much in common but I'm still cool with it. Two gorgeous men.. Some hardcore chemistry... Fuck yeah :3

Wolfstar - Sirius/Remus
Awesomness. I don't know what else to say. Two Marauders.. sexual tension.. They remind me of Ron and Hermione in a way.. Complete opposites but.. it works! :)

Ronks - Remus/Tonks
I think this is one of the rare cannon pairings I ship. They are both very much gorgeous (though I preferred Tonks with pink/purple hair rather than that short brown catastrophe..
This one time I read.. Well, you know how Tonks can change her body, right? Yes, well I read a fic in which she changed her genitals during sex with Remus.. since he was bi.  And.. well.. you can imagine the rest. Hot. I mean *cough* whatever.. xD
Don't give me that look! You were totally thinking it too! Okay, maybe not.. but you are now! xD

Snellatrix - Snape/Bellatrix
I'm not crazy about them but I'll gladly read a fic about the two of them. Two extravagant, intelligent, attractive people.. :33 Why not? Did I mention I love me some angst?

The chemistry..

Bellamort - Bellatrix/Voldemort
Intriguing pairing.. The ship can go a few different main ways. There's the usual Bella-loving-Voldy-while-he's-either-oblivious-or-not-capable-of-loving-back in which at one point he starts changing or something and of course they end up together. Or the other type; an angsty, hurt/comfort, and even abusing relationship. Looking for a happy/positive fic? Not for you. Most Bellamort fics aren't.. happily ever after. Just a small warning. :) Still pretty cool though.

Hansy - Hermione/Pansy
While shipping Drarry, what the hell do I do with Hermione? Ship with her Ron? Hell naw! Ship her with the hottest Slytherin girl! Pansy! :33 I can see it work ;) Even though, not much is written about Pansy (except that her face looks squished with a pig nose or something along those lines) I always imagined as an intelligence equal to Hermione. Strong independent woman.. NOT running after Draco all the time. Gods no.
Though I suppose they'd be a pretty cool couple too. Eh, I don't know. I'm open to everything. I ship it.

Huna - Harry/Luna
They'd be a cute couple.. I suppose. I see them more as friends but I wouldn't mind reading a Huna fic :)

Lumione - Hermione/Luna
I ship it! :D Two.. very.. attractive bright intelligent young ladies.. I say, why not? ;) I'm always up for a good Lumione story (also lengthy and slow). :33

This perfectly sums up my feelings about them. I ship it.. :D

Gimione/Herhinny - Hermione/Ginny
^ I don't know the exact ship name. Anywho, I occasionally read a H/G fanfic but not so much lately.. I think it's because I don't really like Ginny.. I mean Gods, the tomboy version, I love. But the sensitive, innocent Ginny most writers portray, I really dislike. If you find a tomboy Ginny/Hermione fanfic.. You know who to contact. ;)

Minervione - Hermione/McGonagoll
I once came across this girl who wrote only about Minerva and Hermione. She had over 30 fanfics on her profile just about these two lovely ladies. (Calm down people, most of them contained Time Travel, so they were the same age. Okay?) I tried reading a couple, it seemed nice enough but it just wasn't my thing.
I can see why she makes it work though. They're both very intelligent, ambitious young women. Strength and Independence aren't the only adjectives that describe them both..  Whatever floats your boat! :)






















Harmony - Harry/Hermione
According to the movies, Harmony makes perfect sense. Especially when they dance in the tent after Ron leaves them.. xD But anyway, they'd make a cute couple :) Though, their friendship is lovely. Proves males and females can be very good friends without any tension in between them.

Dramione - Draco/Hermione
I used to ship them really hard but since I've started shipping Drarry... it just lost the charm for me :/
Anywho, if the circumstances were a bit different (Draco didn't despise mudbloods), they could have worked out. I occasionally read a fic with this pairing though.. :)

Blammione/Hellatrix - Hermione/Bellatrix
Very.. interesting pairing. I mean, these two women are complete opposites regarding their ambitions/opinions/views on certain things.. but they are very intelligent. Even though one of them is slightly bit.. err, disturbed. Nevertheless, I've read some interesting angsty fanfics featuring these two witches though..  For example, this is one of the best Hellatrix fanfics I've ever read (or started reading and then might have forgotten about it or something along those lines) but every person I meet that ships Hellatrix recommends me this fic. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7755315/1/Those-Gilded-Chains-We-Wear
Nevertheless, I find it really hard to read fanfiction about these two because I keep being reminded of the 'Mudblood carved into skin' scene.. After that, it's impossible to ship them.
Nothing is impossible though. So.. er... I'm cool with it.

Also I ship anything with the Weasley twins. From Fremione/Gremione, Fnarry, Gnarry, Hnaco, Graco.. and whatever else..

I am sure I forgot some other ships along the way but that relatively sums it up.

Well anyway, my advice to you is: Live and let live.
People around you will most likely always have some different opinions on certain things, and you have to live with that. In order to do that, you respect their choices and be kind to them because you'd want them to do the same.
Is it too weird to quote the bible on a post full one same-sex couples? I wouldn't want to be disrespecting its rules and what it stands for but I still agree with some things it says. I might as well..

How I feel basically all the time..

Is this.. a sneak peak?

I never make sneak peaks. Sneak peaks are for large budget movies and popular tv shows.. Why did I just call this thing a sneak peak? Well, I'll tell you why. Because I have a week of vacation in front of me and I have time to write. But that also means I have a lot of time to procrastinate and avoid.. things that need to be done. So, I've decided to put a sneak up for the next post so I have a reminder to do this.

Also, Health and sexual education part 2, Shipping/Fandoms part 2 and.. this. What I've wanted to write about for such a long time. My own, personal.. girl crushes. Fuck yes.

Shipping, fandoms.. Part 1

I think I already explained the world of shipping, fanfiction and fandoms in one of my posts but I might as well repeat it again since the next post is fully going to be related to those things.
A fandom - a community that is completely devoted to a particular tv show, movie, book/series, comic..
Example: Harry Potter, Glee, Homestuck..
Fanfiction - An original story inspired by an already existing story/serie/movie (fandom). The writer isn't obligated to use any characters from the original fandom, he can make up his own (OCs) or even just write about the scenery or.. whatever he/she's into, really.
Another name for fanfiction is also fanfic or fic.
OC - Stands for Original Character aka a character completely made up by the writer.
OOC - Out Of Character behaviour. If you see this in the summary/description of a fanfic, it means the characters in the fanfic don't act the way they would act in the original fandom.
AU - The fic is happening in an Alternate Universe.
Smut/lemon - The content of fanfics labelled lemon or smut is purely sexual. And when I say sexual, I mean full blown 5 page essay on endless lovemaking (usually pretty damn hardcore).
Example: Draco and Hermione hate each other's guts, but then suddenly Hermione feels strangely attracted to the guy who called her a mudblood for the last 6 years and he feels the same way. They kiss, they grope and they fuck. Over and over again.. Brilliant, right? I usually dislike these kinds of fics because they are not even close to realistic, which bothers me. But yeah occasionally, I don't mind it.
Example2: Snape confessing his love for Hermione in the first 100 words of the fic, using slang words and then continuing to fuck her brains out (thankfully not literally). Don't ask me how I know that..
Shipping - Randomly taking previously created characters (or mixing them with OCs) and imagining them in a relationship (hence the relationSHIP --> shipping). The relationship doesn't have to be necessarily romantic/sexual, but I'll be honest with you and tell you that platonic ships are pretty damn rare. People who ship ships call themselves shippers. (Shippers ship ships... Hah!)
Another name for a ship is also pairing. By combining the names of the two characters that you are shipping, you get their ship name. For example: Draco + Harry = Drarry
OTP - One True Pairing aka your favourite ship among all other ships. Ship you ship the hardest. Following the announcement of your OTP is usually this saying : ' I will go down with this ship. ' meaning, I will never stop shipping it.
Example - My OTP in Grey's Anatomy Fandom is Callizona (Callie/Arizona) which I've already talked about. Talk about perfection..
Slash - A ship which involves two male characters, romantically/sexually linked together. Another word also used is yaoi, mostly regarding anime. I love reading slash!
Example: Klaine aka Kurt/Blaine from Glee. Another one of my hardcore ships... :3
Femmeslash - A ship that involves two female characters, romantically/sexually linked together. Another word also used is yuri, mostly regarding anime. I love reading femmeslash!
Example: Brittana aka Santana/Brittany from Glee. Cute couple :3
Cannon ships - Original ships from the fandom.
Example: Harry/Ginny aka Hinny in Harry Potter or Ron/Hermione aka Romione.
One shot - A term used when the writer wants to emphasis the fact there will be only one chapter in that particular fanfic. So, a short body of text basically.
Multi-Chapter Story - I don't have to explain this one, right?
Sub/dom - Stands for Submissive and Dominant. Basically, relationships in which one person is the dominant, strong, capable person and the other submissive, sensitive and occasionally less-capable.
Most likely, the dom is the masculine and sub is the feminine role in the relationship.
In my opinion, ridiculous. I dislike those kinds of relationship but whatever floats your boat..

There are many, many more! Seriously, I've been in this world for a year or two now and I still have to google unfamiliar terms every now and then.. xD

Health and sexual education (and my opinion) part 1

A lot of controversy has been going on here in Croatia (but also the rest of the world) regarding health and sexual education being introduced to Elementary and High schools. There are two main sides colliding in the middle, the ones that are FOR (mostly non-Christians and youth) and the ones that are against AGAINST (mostly Christians, and conservative parents).

Arguments of Against:
 - too early exposure to sex
 - homosexuality is taught as something normal and an acceptable lifestyle

 - masturbation, contraceptives are also taught as something perfectly okay
 - abortion is mentioned

 - And probably some more which I am not aware of

Arguments of For:
 - not lying to the children and teens
 - giving the correct information unlike Internet (or the bible..)
 - giving them a chance to be responsible
 - presenting them with knowledge that they should know and is useful for their future life
 - giving them a chance to be themselves, showing them it is okay and normal

My personal opinion, is that Sexual and Health education definitely should be in forced into the public school system. All the reasons against, I find foolish. Keeping things from your child will not make them love you more (quite the opposite) nor 'protect them' from harm. It will do just the opposite. They will come by false and incorrect information on the playground, from classmates and most often on the Internet. And then they will be a danger to others by going around and spreading the false information to other kids and teens. Or even experimenting without knowing the consequences and being prepared for the aftermath. I think a healthy and an honest child/parent relationship should be present in every family, where there is no 'forbidden' or 'taboo' topics. If my own child wants to know more about polygamy, homosexuality, or mastrubation I will gladly talk to him/her about it.
There is no reason not to. Hell, if he/she wants to talk about pedophilia, I would. I think that kids and teens should be aware of what is out there in the world. They should be prepared.

Regarding the early exposure to sex, I think many parents (and other adults) are in misconception about today's youths knowledge. They seem to think we haven't got a clue about some particular things. As in sex, sexual positions, protection, oral and anal.. so yes, things. But to be bluntly honest, WE DO!
Hell, I knew about these stuff since I was a kid. I mean seriously, I remember being like nine-ish and talking (and giggling) about sex with my friends. And I also remember the stupid questions we had and misconceptions about things. And I kinda wish that there was somebody to answer and explain all the burning questions I had. I had a pretty open relationship with my mum though, but it wasn't cool to talk to your mother about these things. It was a bit awkward (even though we did talk quite a lot, hah). I was never told that the stork brought children, I was told straight forward about women's and men's baby making systems and blah. And I'm quite glad for that. I really dislike that whole lying scheme.

Homosexuality - I understand that Christianity is strictly against it but they have to understand, they do not run the world nor that all children and parents are Christian. I honestly think that the Church shouldn't be so involved in running the country. It's only a religion and nothing else.
Love is a sexual and mental attraction between two mature human beings. Not only between a female and a male. If people can date and fall in love regardless of their nationality, race, religion.. then why can't it be sex too? I think kids/teens should be taught it is okay to be attracted to the same sex (or both), it is okay to be genderblind, it is okay to be born in the wrong body, asexual or anything else. And that homophobia is not okay. Because if we're going to discriminate against LGBT people then we might as well go back to the 1840s and discriminate against women, Afro-Americans.. etc

Mastrubation - Most natural thing a human can do. Is said to be useful for future when you're going to be sexually active because you get to know what you like. It's just a part of discovering yourself and defining who you are. But of course Christians are against it because it's 'impure' or something along those lines. Derps. It's impossible the pope never played around with his.. 'holy rod'. At least as a teenager! For god's sake, if priests aren't allowed to marry and shag then they should at least have the pleasure of satisfying themselves in person. I mean come on.. this one is just bullshit.

Abortion - I don't really have an opinion formed on abortion yet. I think a victim of a rape should definitely be allowed to abort but I don't know about others. I mean, you're basically the owner of that baby in side you, right? And if you want to stop your pregnancy, it's your choice and nobody other's. But then again, that baby has rights too.. It's complicated.

So in conclusion for the AGAINST side, you should play by the ridiculous rules and expected nothing in return. Or God's love and a path to heaven, right? Pfft, you should live your own life the way you want to live it. As long as you're not hurting others with your lifestyle (as in an axe murderer) then you should be allowed to do whatever you like. You are here right now and that's what matters. I personally don't believe in Heaven nor Hell. I think I'm going die someday.. and that's all that is to it. And even if my soul /does/ go somewhere, it will be proud to be there. Because my soul lived a happy, full life by it's own rules. My soul wouldn't feel regret. Not one tiny bit.

So, as I was saying for the FOR side, I think that we should give some credit to kids and teens. They might know some stuff but they don't know everything. And I think that professionals teaching them more about perfectly normal things in life, is exactly what we need. Example; If teens know where to easily get access to free condoms, there will probably be a less pregnancy and STDs rate. Because otherwise, they'd be to embarrassed to buy some (or can't afford any) and would take risks.
I think, making something 'forbidden' or 'secret' totally backfires on you. If you tell your teen, don't smoke cigarettes, you can bet your pretty little ass he/she's going to go ahead and do exactly that. It's all about being rebellious. It makes you feel cool and like an adult. I would know. I am a teenager myself. And I know when I've tried some things I wasn't exactly supposed to, I felt fucking wonderful. And now that I'm relatively 'allowed' to do so, it isn't as fun anymore.

HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS - This is an essay I have written for my Ethics class in school. Enjoy..?

According to Wikipedia; Homosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual activity between members of the same sex or gender.

Homosexuality is one of the three main categories of sexual orientation, along with bisexuality and heterosexuality, (plus asexuality). Scientific and medical understanding is that sexual orientation is not a choice, but rather a complex interplay of biological and environmental factors, especially with regard to early uterine environment. While there are those who still hold the view that homosexual activity is "unnatural" or "dysfunctional", research has shown that homosexuality is an example of a normal and natural variation in human sexuality and is not in and of itself a source of negative psychological effects. Prejudice and discrimination against homosexual and bisexual people, however, have been shown to cause psychological harm.

Homosexuals.
They exist in all classes, social groups, races, positions, and countries, regardless of their age or origin. As far as historians can trace back the past, homosexuals have always been in existence, including Julius Caesar, Plato, and Alexander the Great. In individual cases, homosexuals are often harassed, insulted, kicked, punched, and thrown at by fellow classmates, co-workers, and even family members just for being gay. These discriminations base on prejudices and stereotypes that society has of the gay community.

Among the most common stereotypes are those which carry fear and ignorance. Gays are said to be "child molesters", “coprophiliacs” and "sex-crazed maniacs". They are considered extremely "immoral" because they do not follow social customs, "unnatural" because homosexuality violates the basic functions of genitals and contradicts the nature. Homosexuality is considered a voluntary act or a type of behaviour on which a person can act upon or choose to do so. From that point of view, the anti-gay protesters consider homosexuality a rightful crime as any other. So, naturally, an axe-murderer is considered to be in the same category as a man loving another man. Some countries even went so far and banned it, punished by death including Sudan, Tunisia, Nigeria and many, many more. A dizzying 78 countries have marked homosexuality as either illegal and in some cases even punishable by a death penalty.

On the other hand, gays defend themselves by arguing that homosexuality is a characteristic with which they are attached in the early childhood or even with birth. Gays do not have a choice over their homosexuality as heterosexuals do not have a choice over their heterosexuality. Hence, gayness is a condition over which they do not have, just as no one has control over his or her ethnic race, origin, outer appearance, or the class they he or she is born in. In addition, empirical research on adult sexual orientation and molestation of children has shown that gay men are not more likely to molest children than heterosexual men.

Christianity on homosexuality.
Christianity, the largest-spread religion on Earth is said to be against Homosexuality and any other type of sex-changing lifestyles. Religious leaders reason that Jesus asks the mankind in the Bible "to go out and have children." Since homosexuals are not able to reproduce children, homosexuality is, therefore, from their prospective an act of sin. I would like to point out that not everyone on Earth is Christian, and I personally have no reason to believe homosexuality is a sin. It's a natural phenomenon which occurs in more than a thousand animal species as well. Just as you are born left-handed, you are born homosexual. I think no one should have to live in fear because of bigotry and disapproval of others.

Let's rewind back to the 1960s

About half a decade ago, we were fighting for legalisation of interracial marriage. Looking back, I’ve noticed something that had bothered me:

The most common negative comment opposing interracial marriage was:

Quote:“We're just protecting the sanctity of marriage.”
What sanctity exactly? The one where you deny a basic human right to another human being based solely on their skin colour? I didn't think so either.
Anyway, we fought and fought and won the fight. Interracial marriage was officially legalised and soon after a while, it didn't seem to matter any more. Today, in the beginning of the 21^st century there seems to be less and less frowning upon interracial marriage and racism in general. That is progress.
The exact same quote that I've just put as an example for anti-interracial marriage is being said against marriage equality, today. And every time I hear it, I point out that interracial marriage was once considered an 'abomination' too, and look where we are now? Exactly.

The other most common negative comment opposing homosexual people adopt and marriage equality.

Quote: “Opposite-sex relationships are the only type capable of producing children through natural intercourse, and the only ones assured of providing children with both a mother and a father. Affirming only opposite-sex relationships as marriage thus makes perfect sense.”

When did marriage become something you were needed to do before you wanted to have children? In my knowledge, a marriage is a private promise between two people that love each other and want to be recognised as united in front of the law. And as far as I'm concerned those two people may be of any nationality, race, religion, sex and etc. And when we're already on the subject of a child having a mother and a father:

Gay adoption:
One of the most common comments I hear opposing gay adoption is;

'A child should have a mother and a father'. Following the logic of that sentence, we can safely assume that the reason a child should be raised by a female and a male, is because the child should lead a balanced childhood. Meaning that the child would be provided with equal amount of femininity and masculinity. Because God forbid, a son spent more time with his mother and became slightly more feminine guy and 'became' a homosexual. My personal opinion is that by this statement, you are promoting inequality among sexes and stereotypes. You're celebrating the genetic differences between men and women and categorising them simply based on their sex.
You're stating how a person of a particular sex should act.
Example: If you are A) a woman – you must act feminine, submissive, wear bright red or pink colours (because they are labelled lady-like), be emotional and have long hair.
If you are B) A man – you should act masculine, dominant, wear darker colours, never show feelings or emotions and have short hair.

I understand that women are genetically more caring, patient and compassionate and men are physically and emotionally more strong and stable but that's not a reason to label us and decide on how we have to act or dress. I strongly feel two mothers or two fathers would be just as good and capable of parenting as a mother and a father. I think a child in an orphanage wouldn't care for the sex of his new adopting parents. He would care about getting a caring family.

Being LGBT in Croatia (straight from wikipedia, you don't have to read this part.)
Both male and female same-sex sexual activity are legal in Croatia, but households headed by same-gender couples are not eligible for the same legal protections available to opposite-gender couples. Croatia, as a whole, is still considered to be rather conservative, especially in public reactions regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rights and visibility of LGBT people. In the last few years there has been no mass organized or group violence towards LGBT activism and manifestations, however, hate speech and severe incidents against LGBT community and individuals occasionally happen. Despite all that, there has been a significant improvement in terms of LGBT rights since the first LGBT pride in 2002. Republic of Croatia bans all anti-LGBT discrimination, unregistered cohabitations have been introduced, and more and more politicians and celebrities support LGBT rights, with some decided to go out of the closet.

Same-sex sexual activity was legalised in 1977. The age of consent was equalised in 1998 when it was specified as 14 by the Croatian Criminal Code. The acts themselves ban "sexual relations with a child" while it is later defined that a child is a person under the age of 14. Gender transition is legal in Croatia, together with birth certificate amendment, but change of sex is always stated. However, on 29 May 2012 it was announced that the government will take extra steps to protect transsexual and transgender people. Sex reassignment surgery will not have to be stated in birth certificate anymore, thus making sure that information of that kind stays private. Same law treatment is planned for people who have not gone through sex reassignment surgery, but have been going through hormone replacement therapy. 

Since 2006, the country has had hate crimes legislation covering sexual orientation. This law was first applied in 2007, when a man who violently attacked the Zagreb Pride parade was charged and convicted to 14 months in prison. Police arrested a 25-year-old man and charged him with a hate crime for the incident of the attempted to throw five or six Molotov cocktails on Zagreb Pride in June 2007.
