Especially when they sing in mornings or at dawn which causes people to awake from slumber, grunt in anger and then not be able to fall asleep again, however hard they try. Sounds familiar? Hah, well I wouldn't know personally. :) I just really like the sound of birds singing, it's quite peaceful and calming to me. Just that feeling of waking up (on a Saturday or any day without an alarm), satisfyingly stretching and hearing cheerful tweets coming from the outside. It makes my day. It makes me smile. You know?
Same thing for crickets! Oh god, I love me some crickets.. That moment when you're camping and the mixture of crickets, wind and rustling leaves outside the tent combines into a perfect calming sound.
And don't even get me started on rain and storms! Birds singing, crickets, wind and leaves COMBINED aren't as awesome as the soft sound of rain falling and thunder storms.
That feeling of just lying in bed, the cool and fresh scent of rain in the air flowing from the window, calming and soothing rhythm of heavy rain drops splattering across the ground and others, sliding down the windows with an occasional thunder bolt soaring through the sky with a loud bang.
It calms me down instantly. It makes me feel utterly safe and sound. Also makes me sleepy.. :) Perfect in the evenings.
I guess I should mention I am a very heavy sleeper aka I sleep like a log. Rarely anything wakes me.
Seriously, don't believe me? I live next to a fire fighters station. They start their sirens while they are still in front of the building and it's bloody loud, trust me but for me personally, I don't notice it.. How do I not notice an ear-splitting, high pitched siren? Well, after living next to it for 15 years, you kinda get used to it. :)
It's so weird when my friends visit and cover their ears while the truck passes by (if the windows are opened, it's quite loud, if not it's not that bad) and I just look at them in confusion before I realise and laugh.
Also my room is next to the elevator (I live in a building, obviously) and I completely block out the sound.. xD Not to mention the traffic in front of my house. One of the main and busiest streets is in front of my building and the daily noise of trams, cars and buses.. Huh.
So after writing this huge chunk of text.. now what? I don't fully feel satisfied with this post..
I didn't make any jokes which most likely resulted in you not being amused with this post and of course, disinterested. You might have associated with this post but that's a slim chance.
So, seriously, now what?
